Would you buy a House... Blindfolded?

After comparing and choosing a diamond, our satisfied customers are in disbelief of how many consumers purchase diamonds online without actually seeing them. We don’t understand how people can buy something sight unseen when there are so many visual factor that are not on the certificate or explained to a buyer.

The popularity of ecommerce diamond jewellery retailers has dramatically changed the diamond business landscape. This not only amazes me, it amazes every single customer I’ve worked with. Any time I pose the question “could you imagine buying a diamond online?” to one of my clients whom has sat with me to compare 4 or 5 diamonds to each other, the answer is flatly, “NO!” There are myriad factors that affect the quality of a diamond which are not always included on a certificate of appraisal or noted before you click buy online.

When selecting diamonds, we go out of our way to pick the ones with maximum brilliance. Five diamonds, with near identical grading or appraisal specifications, being compared side by side, may “most often” shine differently. This is where the paper pushers often lose. Many diamonds sold online at bulk retailers are “error type” stones meaning, there’s something wrong either in clarity, colour, cut or brilliance. That Si1 graded diamond may possess a very obvious black inclusion right in the middle. The brilliance may be mediocre even though cut is graded as very good or excellent or ideal. The lustre may be lacking simply due to the chemical composition of the diamond resulting in strong fluorescence. It’s not uncommon to find two diamonds with the exact same grading while they actually present differently and are hundreds or thousands of dollars different in price.

A less expensive diamond can often look better than its more expensive similarly graded counterpart. The reason we buy these little rocks and the reason why they are sooooo expensive is because of their brilliance. So how on earth can you buy them sight unseen? When you come to National Jewel Creations for your diamonds, we will show you how to get the brightest diamond for the best price, or the largest brightest diamond that fits your budget.
It’s that simple.
